Village Dental Preceptorship Program
Welcome to the Village Dental Preceptor Program — where hands-on learning meets mentorship. Our preceptorship is how we train all of our dental assistants, combining structured education with real-world experience inside our offices.
At Village Dental, every trainee is paired with a certified preceptor — an experienced team member dedicated to guiding them through their first 30 days of learning. This approach ensures each assistant not only learns technical skills but also masters our systems, patient experience standards, and culture of care.
What Makes Our Preceptorship Unique
- Structured Training Calendar: A detailed 4-week roadmap covering everything from software and charting to chairside assisting and patient flow.
- Live, Hands-On Learning: Training occurs within real Village Dental offices — no classroom simulations, just meaningful experience.
- Daily Check-Ins: Preceptors meet with trainees every morning to review goals, coach on performance, and ensure consistent progress.
- Culture and Connection: We believe technical mastery begins with mentorship. Our preceptors model the habits, communication, and compassion that define Village Dental.
Program Overview
- Duration: 4 weeks, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Structure: Combination of observation, one-on-one mentorship, and hands-on practice with patients.
- Curriculum: Aligned with the Ten Commitments of Preceptorship and guided by our Village Dental University training materials.
